Welcome to Eastington Primary School's latest achievers. All these children have been nominated by a teacher for something special and have been added to the 'Golden Book'. Please read all about our fantastic achievers for this week! -

Class 1

Violet - for being very kind and thoughtful this week. You have also been sitting on the carpet beautifully. Lovely listening Violet.

 

Phoenix - for a super Gruffalo story. You wrote completely independently and it was very neat. Well done.

Class 2

George - for being so kind, sensible and hardworking and tackling challenges with a positive attitude – brilliant!

Myla - for being so kind and thoughtful and taking the time to care for others. Well done Myla, this is lovely to see.

Class 3

Lottie - for writing a limerick in our poetry work. Well done thinking about rhyming and counting syllables.

Toby - for replacing a school book that got damaged and buying a new one with his own pocket money. Thank you!

Class 4

Adam - for beautiful homework. Well presented and carefully thought out. He did a really good job.

 

Ruth - for consistently working to the very best of her ability across the curriculum.

Flossie and Daisy for consistently scoring full marks in their spelling tests ever week all year! Also that they both apply these spellings to their everday writing.

Piers - for showing great effort with co-ordinates in maths. He has translated shapes accurately. Well done!

Joseph - for showing diligence in his writing this week. Joseph demonstrated a keenness to ensure his work was as good as he could make it – well done.

 

Anna - for being an excellent friend to her London buddy – throwing herself into the meeting and finding out lots about her new friend.

Muhammed - for not allowing an injury to get in his way at PGL. He carried on bravely – true resilience!

 

Rosie F - for just entertaining us so much last week – your personality really shone through – thank you for all the ‘Rosie’ moments.

All of Class 1 for writing a super letter from Greenpeace. You remembered many of the whale facts to include in your letter. Well done.

 

Red - for always being so kind and considerate towards others. You have helped to welcome our new little boy to the class.

Sophie - for always being kind and helpful towards others and also being a resilient learner. Well done!

Lauren - for putting extra effort into her English work. Lauren is determined to be a great writer and always listens to advice on how to improve. Well done.

Jessica - for a super hot write using fronted adverbials, clear paragraphs and good word choices. Keep up the great story writing!

George and Sam - for working hard in our class garden. They have both kept the weeds down, planted and harvested vegetables. Thank you!

Maude - for always working hard in every lesson. You have a great attitude towards your learning. Well done!

Alex - for his kindness and considertion when on the school trip. He really looked out for his partner. Well done!

Ted - for persevering with a ruler to draw reflected shapes in maths. Well done keeping lines straight and accurate.

Max - for always giving his best in all areas of the curriculum, challenging himself and constantly ready to learn.

Class 4

Florence - for using super resilience when faced with some tricky 3D shape challenges. Well done Florence for sticking with it.

 

Alesha - for being an extremely diligent work in all subjects. Alesha always listens carefully, tries her best and challenges herself. Well done

Ben S - for mastering this week’s spellings – quite a tricky bunch but a perfect score – the practice paid off!

 

Jon - for his clear instructions on how to make homemade pesto pasta – you included all the relevant details from our cooking session on Wednesday.

Thomas - for securing his recognition of numbers to 12 and also writing his numbers to 12. You are also speaking in such clear sentences. Well done Thomas.

 

Adam - for playing and co-operating with his group of friends so well. You have all had such positive playtimes this week. Brilliant.

Eilan - for being a whole body listener and always having beautiful manners. Well done!

Perin - for being a great team player in our PE sessions. Well done.

Poppy - for fantastic progress in reading follow-up work. Your inferential skills are developing brilliantly. Well done!

Caitlin and Emma - for answering so well during the education workshop at the Wild Place on Monday. Very impressive understanding and reasoning. Well done!

Sophie - for being a good friend, supporting others and making sure her friends are happy.

William - for contributing so much to our ideas session on Wednesday – you really helped us along.

Harry T - for re-reading his work and so he was able to spot missing words in his sentences. He also neatened his handwriting. Well done.

 

Jack - for some independent work during English, all week. Super sounding out and using his phonics.

Class 2

Harun - for great improvement in his reading and writing. Well done – we are really proud of you!

Alex - for super reasoning in maths. You are getting really good at explaining your thinking – a tricky skill! Well done.

Class 3

Lilly - for great work on angles this week. Well done measuring and comparing acute and obtuse angles.

Hero - for finishing tasks more quickly and enjoying the end result. This has been noticed particularly in Science and Maths – well done!

Class 4

Bea - for just being a very diligent girl, listening carefully and working hard in all.

 

Callum - for great work in 2D shapes – learning (and remembering) the key properties of 2D shapes.

Class 5

Edgar and Xan for making a huge effort to include everything that was expected of them in their writing this week. Edgar even asked to re-do his as he thought he could do better – well done both.

Dexter and Lola - for showing great diligence in their written work. They have worked really hard this week to improve the neatness of their handwriting and remember clear finger spaces. Super.

Class 2

Harrison H - for working so hard in ‘Letters and Sounds’ and being independent. Well done!

Lauren - for her wonderful recount of our ‘Dance Day’. You put in lots of interesting vocabulary. Well done!

Class 3

Thomas - for a great start with angles in maths. Well done comparing and measuring accurately.

Nel - for becoming a free reader and working hard reading at home. Keep this up!

Class 4

Rocco - super writing Rocco in your ‘cold write’. You really thought carefully about the features of a fiction story.

 

Cameron - excellent diligence in maths yesterday exploring the features of 2D shapes. Well done.

Charlie - for his extensive note taking. You really showed that you’d listened to the advice on how to effectively note take.

Maisie - for working on her writing and increasing the pace of work as well as improving on her spelling. Well done Maisie.

Georgia - for really thinking carefully when answering a reasoning question in maths – well done!

Lexie-May - for always being willing to co-operate with others and offering to help when needed. Thank you and well done.

Class 3

Chloe - for writing a fantastic poem. She used effective verbs, nouns and counted the syllables to make it flow. Keep this up!

Daisy - for co-operating well with everything we do in Class 3 and always trying to improve with her work and friendships. Well done!

Class 4

Ollie - for fantastic language choices in his poetry writing – you really considered the audience Ollie, well done.

 

Ava - for solving a reverse calculation independently, carefully applying skills and checking the answer – well done.

Class 5

Oliver - for being so thoughtful during swimming yesterday. Something he did showed what a kind person he is – a great friend.

 

Ben W - for his Rousseau style painting. He showed that he really understood the style of Rousseau’s work and techniques.

Basil - for great sounding of his words and recognition of his words in his word pack.

This week we have to say well done to all of the Year 2 children who have worked with resilience and diligence throughout the week. We are very proud of you.

Isabella - for her enthusiasm with our topic about the rainforest and answering questions thoughtfully this week.

Flossie - for super maths work and challenging herself to do more problem-solving questions. Well done!

Class 4

Jorja - for being so brave at swimming yesterday. We are all so proud of how you have overcome your fears …. 3 times! Well done.

 

Holly - for super maths work – showing great focus and applying of skills.

Class 5

Shawn - for conquering his fears over and over again in swimming – he has progressed so far as he is willing to give everything a go.

 

Jacob R - for being such a good friend to Edgar earlier this week. It was lovely to see how you took care of him.

Rio-James - for his enthusiasm for learning, particularly his writing. He has been choosing to write at the writing table and is sounding out his words very well.

 

Phoebe - for really believing in her ability now. You are not afraid to have a go anymore Phoebe. Super confidence.

Freya - for working so diligently on her mental maths every afternoon – you are making great progress – well done!

Emelia - for being so well-mannered. She always says please and thank you – it really does make a difference to our class – thank you!

Class 3

George - for much improved story writing. His hot write included good paragraphs and great word choices. Keep this up!

Hero - for applying himself well at the start of a task this week, especially with maths. You can do it Hero!

Class 4

Erin and Ruth - for fantastic persuasive writing! Both girls have considered how they can use their writing toolkits to aid them in their work. Well done.

Class 5

I can’t possibly just pick 2 children this week as I am so incredibly proud of each and every one of our year sixes. They all deserve a huge round of applause. I also want to say how wonderful the year fives have been with the change to the timetable – it was really appreciated how they just got on with everything.

Ted - for achieving brilliantly with his Smart moves programme this week. He has challenged himself to do harder tasks and shown good co-ordination and skill.

Wilf - for working hard to improve his handwriting and his super science knowledge! Well done.

Poppy - for great progress with reading and spelling. A huge difference in her own writing applying the rules and patterns we have been learning. Keep this up.

Anna - great application of spelling strategies – we are seeing huge progress and a very mature and proactive approach to self-checking – well done.

Quinn - for hard work on his writing skills. He wrote a super story with lots of description. Well done.

Nathan - for putting in lots of effort with ‘Mathletics’. What a lot of certificates you are getting – well done!

Class 3

Piers - for sounding out spellings accurately and finding new words with the same pattern. Well done – keep this up!

Scarlett - for improved listening skills and co-operating well with friends. This has made a big difference - keep it up!

Class 4

Edward - for some lovely language choices in his writing – Edward really captured the scene in his extended descriptions.

 

Adam - for being so enthusiastic about his writing yesterday – putting in all that effort meant you achieved some lovely work – well done.

Class 5

Thomas - for his organisation around the classroom. Thomas is always prepared and ready and ensures those around him have all they need. What a great, useful skill ready for secondary.

Florence and Jasmine – for superb diligence displayed whilst writing their Jasper stories. You took great care girls – well done.

Maude – for her resilience in getting her letters just the right size – not too big and not too small! You should be very proud of yourself!

Class 3

Caitlin – for her enthusiasm and great work during Japan Day. She always shows great tolerance and understanding in activities like this. Well done!

Max – for his excellent reasoning and explanation skills with the Viking game on Wednesday. Hrothgar was impressed with the chess like moves Max could describe. Well done!

Class 4

Callum and Theo – for displaying super leadership skills in young leaders this week. Well done boys.

Class 5

Martha – for writing a beautiful Haikus which created personification and imagery in the mind of the reader.

 

William – for neat stitching skills when sewing his viking sail then sharing those skills when helping class 3.

Laila-May and Rubie - This week the wards go to two girls who have not only learnt all the words to quite a longt song but also performed it to the whole school in assembly on Wednesday. You were very brave and so confident. Lovely singing girls. (Lottie also helped too as a backing singer!)

Class 2

George - for being a consistently hard-working, respectful and caring pupil. He can always be relied upon to try his very best. Well done.

Liyah - for her conscientious attitue to learning. She always listens carefully and works hard to succeed. Well done!

Class 3

Lottie - for deciding to improve her pencil grip and work hard with forming her letters correctly. This is great as it has come from you! Keep this up.

Jasmine - for challenging herself in maths and always wanting to find different ways to solve problems. Well done!

Class 4

Poppy - for showing great resilience when faced with tricky maths tasks – well done Poppy – keep up this positive attitude towards your learning.

Ella - for working extremely hard on learning to spell the Year 2 ‘tricky’ words, even practising at play time! Well done!

Harrison N - for great progress with his reading, both at home and at school. What a diligent pupil you are!

Isabella - for improved understanding with fractions and being able to demonstrate equivalence. Keep this up!

Lilly - for challenging herself in writing. She has been using her toolkit to improve sentences and develop paragraphs.

James - great work on recognising the differences between reported and direct speech, and applying these into his writing. Lovely work.

Imogen – for making a huge effort with handwriting. She is taking time to form her letters correctly and write neatly on the line. Keep this up!

Caitlin – for showing forgiveness and resilience when a chair leg accidentally went into her foot! Great understanding and handling a tricky situation very well!

Charlie – (from before half term) – such a brave boy, having his mod-roc mask done – losing his sight and ability to speak and because he had removed his hearing aid as well, losing his hearing too. Incredibly brave.

Harun – for showing resilience whilst experimenting with the cars and long tubes. He did not give up when one of the cars got stuck and he solved a problem when one of the cars was too wide for the tube. Well done Harun.

Perin – for meeting every new experience with a smile and showing great resilience at all his tasks so far.
